Friends of Al-Aqsa urge Muslims not to eat Israeli dates during holy month of Ramadan – NEWS 360 – EUROPE

London: Friends of Al-Aqsa, a pro-Palestinian organization, called for a boycott of dates shipped from Israel during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The call of the organization is to the believers of Islam in Europe. The boycott call is once morest Israel’s raids in Palestine. For this, the organization started a hashtag campaign called Check the Label. When buying dates, it is advised to check the labels on the packaging to ensure that they are not from Israel.

“By choosing not to buy Israeli dates this Ramadan, the Muslim community can send a clear and powerful message condemning Israel’s illegal occupation and apartheid in Palestine,” said Friends of Al-Aqsa leader Shamiul Jorder.

During the holy month of Ramadan, believers break their fast by eating dates. So during this time there is a huge increase in the consumption of dates all over the world. Israel is the world’s number one producer of delicious Medjool dates. Israel exports fifty percent of its date production to Europe. Most of Israel’s date plantations are located in the West Bank.
