FALUN. Frida Karlsson had a dark Saturday in Falun.

She is very self-critical following the 14th place.

– It’s downright bad, says the Swede.

The snowfall in Falun forced Frida Karlsson to make late changes with her skis for Saturday’s classic 10-kilometer race.

The 24-year-old asked for more attachment, but she wouldn’t do that.

– It was completely wrong. I get far too much grip under the skis. I am fully responsible for it and take it upon myself, she says.

Karlsson continues:

– I was a little unsure when we tested before. You have to make a balance, how much attachment to go with. I say I want more but it turns out to be completely wrong. I get almost no slippage at all.

“Pretty rough down”

Karlsson finished 1.21 following the winner Kerttu Niskanen.

– I struggle with riding. It’s downright bad today. It feels like the shape curve is pointing quite roughly downwards right now, she says.

How much did the five miler last weekend wear on you?

– It was a real discharge. It’s just the final bit now.

Dahlqvist: “Didn’t even see the tracks”

Several of the Swedes toiled with the lead during Saturday. Maja Dahlqvist started as the third rider and had problems with the tracks.

– There was a lot of snow out there. It felt like riding on the mountain and it is re-driven. I didn’t even see the tracks at the top, says Dahlqvist, who finished 42nd.

On Sunday, the World Cup ends with a mass start.
