Friche Josaphat: Ecolo and the Brussels PS facing the challenge of appeasement to get out of the crisis

Ten days ago, the symbolic file of the Josaphat wasteland turned into an open conflict between PS and Ecolo within the Brussels executive. After a week off, both parties must seek a way out of the crisis.

Ils. In recent weeks, the personal pronoun has been making a comeback in the capital. More precisely in the political arena of Brussels. Ecolo elected officials use it willingly to evoke those of the PS. And vice versa. And it is (very) rarely for the better. Both accuse each other of dogmatism, incompetence and lack of goodwill. In this explosive atmosphere, the Josaphat wasteland file acted as a detonator on Thursday 16 February. The Ecolo ministers left the government session prematurely. They accuse the PS, which disputes, to advance procedures without agreement within the executive. The Greens do not go there with the back of the spoon. They denounce a “total denial of democracy” or even a “small coup d’etat”. After a week of political leave, the two partners must now seek a way out of the crisis. This Thursday, the team of Rudi Vervoort (PS) holds its weekly meeting. The participation of ecologists remains unknown.
