Tremblay-les-Villages. the tomato with all the sauces. It’s the holidays and it shows: The streets of our small towns are (almost) deserted, and paradoxically it’s time for big harvests for all our market gardeners around.
Virginie Bouchard, Virginia Corn organic farm, in Tremblay les Villages, notes: “For months, we work the land, sow and plant to grow tasty fruits and vegetables. And it is when the harvests are at their peak that a lot of our customers are on vacation”.
The market gardener currently offers tomatoes, green beans and eggplant.
Even if some of these vegetables will go to the cannery to make soups, it’s time to support local producers by stocking up on fresh produce.
The Virginia Corn farm. Place de l’église in Tremblay-les-Villages on Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 to 1 p.m.
