Finland’s prime minister, who was embroiled in drug allegations following a video of a frantic party with celebrities was leaked, tested negative.

On the 22nd (local time), Finland’s Prime Minister’s Office announced that Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin (36) had a negative drug test result.

Prime Minister Marin was recently accused of drug use following a video of him singing, dancing and playing with celebrities such as celebrities and politicians went viral on social media. It was claimed that the shared video had heard a slang term for drugs in Finnish. In response, politicians asked Prime Minister Marin to test for drugs.

Prime Minister Marin admitted to drinking, but denied taking any drugs, and conducted various drug tests at his own expense. Prime Minister Marin held a press conference last week, stressing that “I have not done anything illegal” and that “I have been tested to alleviate the concerns of those around me.”

It is expected that Prime Minister Marin’s suspicions of drug use will subside, but it is expected that the decline in approval ratings will not be prevented as it is pointed out that he was acting inappropriately as a high-ranking public official. In fact, AFP reports that two-thirds of respondents in a survey conducted by Finnish MTV3 said that Marin’s actions were a serious mistake. On the other hand, the problem is only the video leak itself, and there are many advocates that the prime minister has the right to enjoy leisure freely.

Some in Finland believe that there is a possibility that the mobile phone or social media accounts of Prime Minister Marin’s aides may have been hacked by Russia. The Russian government may be a strategy to confuse the Finnish government into a scandal amid rising military tensions between Finland and Russia. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Marin, who was born in 1985 and was 34 years old, was elected as the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Finland in December 2019, making him the youngest prime minister. The current prime minister, Marin, is married to his longtime lover in 2020 and has one daughter.
