A herd of starving sheep attacked their shepherd’s cannabis crop in Thessaly, Greece. As the shepherd reported, the animals were behaving strangely — and jumping higher than his goats. Thessaly was hit by devastating weather extremes this year. First, there were Heat and drought, followed by storm Daniel brought extreme rainfall and flooding.

The Greek shepherd Bourounis was amazed when he found his herd: the animals behaved strangely, had a dazed look – and jumped higher than the goats.

At first he doesn’t understand what it’s all regarding. However, as he soon finds out, the sheep had previously broken into his greenhouse, where the shepherd grows medical cannabis.

The astonished owner told the Greek news website TheNewspaper.gr later, his harvest had already been badly damaged by a heat wave and the storm Daniel – and the sheep had eaten “what was left”.

The herd had previously grazed in the flooded plains of Thessaly in central Greece before migrating to the greenhouse near the city of Almyros. There the animals ended up eating around 100 kilograms of cannabis.

The shepherd appeared dejected: “I don’t know whether I should laugh or cry. We had the heat wave and lost a lot of production. We had the floods and now we have lost almost everything.”
