Senators on Thursday largely rejected the CETA treaty, provisionally applied since 2017 but never submitted to the upper house. This free trade agreement between the EU and Canada has nevertheless benefited the French wine and cheese sectors for seven years, which might suffer a drop in their exports in the event of CETA being stopped.
