French Team’s World Cup Preparations: Third Victory in a Row against Venezuela

2023-08-07 14:34:00

The French team continues its preparation for the World Cup! After three days of rest, the Blues will pick up the pace by playing three games in the next five days. The first takes place tonight at 8:15 p.m. once morest Venezuela.

Africa (Tunisia), Europe (Montenegro) and now South America (Venezuela), France meets all types of nations in its preparation for the World Cup. After two successes – one easy and another more narrow – Vincent Collet’s men are aiming for a third victory in a row facing a much inferior team on paper.

Essential information:

Kick-off: 8:15 p.m. Opponent: Venezuela Venue: CO’Met Orléans TV broadcast: BeIn Sports 2 (not France 4)

If the first match once morest Tunisia was a collective demonstration, the one once morest Montenegro was a little more difficult with a less fluid attack and more ball losses. It is therefore above all on this point that we expect our Blues tonight: a rehearsed attack, good collective play and regained automatisms would bode well with less than three weeks to go before the start of the World Cup.

A disputed meeting ????

On an individual level, we would like to see Evan Fournier follow up following his 20-point game on Wednesday, as well as Elie Okobo, author of a fine performance off the bench. A small reaction from captain Nicolas Batum, who had difficulty shooting in the first two games, is also expected. And if Rudy Gobert can continue to dominate under the circle while planting us a new shot from the parking lot, we obviously do not say no! Note that Yoan Makoundou will be in the group in place of Mathias Lessort, always spared.

Opposite, Venezuela is experiencing a difficult preparation with three defeats once morest Angola, Spain and Argentina. It should therefore be an opponent well within reach of France, like Tunisia last Monday. The opportunity for the Blues to work on the points they master lesssuch as zone defense tested several times by Vincent Collet last week. In training, the coach also insisted a lot on the rebound, which his men lacked once morest Montenegro.

See you tonight at 8:15 p.m. for the third preparation match for the France team. Faced with an inferior opponent on paper, work and concentration will be the watchwords to continue to progress twenty days before the start of the World Cup!
