Inflation expected to decline
On January 31, commercial negotiations will take place between manufacturers and distributors. Thus, everyone must agree on the prices applied to food products.

And for good reason, this drop will take place in the coming weeks. Please note, however, that it concerns many products. This is particularly the case for butter, oils, poultry and other meats sold in supermarkets.
The boss of E.Leclerc supermarkets, Michel-Edouard, promised that there would be other reductions on other items. This is particularly the case for coffee, flour, pasta but also pizza. So good news.
A drop in prices on many products
It must be said that all these products purchased in supermarkets are very popular with the French. They put all these items in their basket when shopping. Fortunately, they will experience a drop in prices.

He explained: “Toys, textiles, everything that comes from far away, from Asia and Oceania, will decline because the container prices have been divided by three or four“. But that’s not all.
According to him, we should not lose hope on another drop in prices for other food products purchased in everyday life. He says he “does not despair of winning the price battle”.

One thing is certain, department store bosses remain very optimistic regarding a drop in prices. Furthermore, they hope that inflation will finally fall following two very difficult years.
Michel-Edouard Leclerc revealed: “For 2024, we will have between 2.5 and 3%. It would be a great victory.” Last Thursday, INSEE also shared data on the evolution of food prices.
The organization reveals that prices will continue to slow down. INSEE also thinks that inflation will be at 2.6% in June 2024. You will still have to be patient before knowing more on the subject.
