Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron said that the fight against terrorism does not mean leveling Gaza. All lives are precious. Macron also said that Israel must stop the violence. He was responding to French media outlet France 5 on Wednesday.
Asked about Israel’s right to self-defense, Macron said France’s concern was the protection of its people. He pointed out that the country’s position is that a ceasefire is necessary considering humanitarian issues. Earlier, Macron had stated that Israel must stop killing infants and women in Gaza. Later, Netanyahu came out demanding that the nations should not condemn Israel but Hamas. He also pointed out that the crimes committed by Hamas today in Gaza will be committed tomorrow in Paris, New York and anywhere in the world.
The fight against terrorism does not mean flattening Gaza. Indiscriminate violence against common people cannot be allowed. All lives are equal. Israel must be ready to end this type of violence – Macron said.
