French Perception of President Macron’s Policies: A Majority Discontented, Who Benefits and Who Loses?

Of the population surveyed as a whole, only a minority of French people believe they have won from the policy pursued by the current French president (25%), a figure that has been falling steadily since January 2022 (33%, -8 points), d ‘following the survey unveiled recently.

With regard to socio-professional categories, the survey highlights significant differences in the perception of the beneficiaries of the policy led by Emmanuel Macron. Differences remain

The detailed results of the survey also raise significant differences depending on the political proximity of the respondents. Only 8% of those close to La France Insoumise, 10% to the Socialist Party and 14% of those to the Rassemblement National and those to Europe Écologie Les Verts indicate that they take advantage of Macron’s policy, while supporters of Renaissance (81%) and of Republicans (38%) say they benefit the most from the president’s policies.

Carried out from June 27 to 28, 2023, this survey was conducted among a sample of 1,002 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over.
