This is information that will not make the defenders of excellent teaching jump for joy: the students enrolled this year in the first educational baccalaureate (to become teachers or holders of a subject taught at the beginning of secondary school) have massively failed the “in-depth mastery of the French language” test (EMLF for short).
This is the first time that this test has been organized, moreover within the framework of the reform of initial teacher training. It was optional but it will allow those who have validated it to obtain an exemption from the mastery of the language of instruction course provided for in the first year’s program.
