During the Vertical Blue (the most prestigious freediving event in the world) in the Bahamas, the French freediver Arnaud Jerald broke his own world record by performing a dive to 122 meters in constant weight bi-fins.

3 minutes and 35 seconds. In the warm waters of Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas, the Frenchman Arnaud Jerald expressed all his mastery. During a dive of more than three minutes, the 27-year-old freediver managed to reach the impressive mark of 122 meters deep, thus winning a world record in constant weight bi-fins, his category.

“I felt very comfortable throughout the dive. No significant difficulty to declare and in particular no intoxication of the depths, which allowed me to show a serene face when I pierced the surface”, he confided to the team.

If this performance is the result of “intense and constant” training, this is not the first time for the Marseillais. This new world record established during the Vertical Blue – the most prestigious freediving event in the world bringing together 44 freedivers from 26 different nations this year – indeed joins the seven other world records won by the freediver.

Arnaud Jerald has not finished pushing the limits. The diver does not rule out a new dive beyond 122 meters before the end of the 2023 edition of this Vertical Blue.
