New York | A French-Canadian woman has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for sending a poisoned letter to kill former US President Donald Trump. The court sentenced 56-year-old Pascal Ferrier. The accused pleaded guilty last January. Ferrier will be deported from the US following serving his sentence.

In September 2020, Pascal Ferrier sent a letter to the White House that was covered in raisin dust, asking him to withdraw from the presidential race. The aim was to kill Trump and some other US officials using biological weapons.

Six letters smeared with raisin were sent. One to the White House and five to Texas Department of Justice offices. But the letter was destroyed before it reached Trump. The FBI found Pascal Ferrier’s fingerprints on the letter.
