Assistant coach at Wolves for four seasons now, the French Maxime Lefèvre has been rewarded for his work by the franchise, which has decided to entrust him with the reins of the Summer League team. He will therefore be responsible for leading the group in Las Vegas, from July 7 to 17.
What a wonderful reward to be the Summer League coach of an NBA team, when you’re assistant coach the rest of the season. This honor is Maxime Lefèvre, a Frenchman from Meurthe-et-Moselle, who received it. From July 7 to 17, he will be the head coach of Wolves at the Summer League in Las Vegas.

For four years, he has served as an assistant on the Wolves bench. He analyzes opposing teams and whispers in Chris Finch’s ear during games, to suggest adjustments and share his observations. Being empowered in this way builds franchise confidence, and can then open the door to greater opportunities down the road.
Landed in the United States as a player wanting to try the NCAA adventure, Maxime quickly converted to coaching, on behalf of Little Rock in 2013. A change of direction paid off, since he will experience great things. Under Chris Beard, one of the best university technicians, he trained and obtained the attention of Texas Tech, one of the best universities in the country. In Texas, he experiences first-hand the unique excitement of March Madness’ Final Four. Through the links he has forged, he finds himself approached in 2018 by the Jazz, the Sixers and the Mavericks. It is finally to Ryan Saunders that he will give the green light in 2019, and will be hired as an assistant at Wolves. A great adventure that has now lasted four years, and which is therefore rewarded. Before bigger opportunities? That’s what we hope.
