Reigning world champions, the French 3 × 3 unfortunately failed in the final of the 2023 World Cup, once morest a formidable Team USA.
The day had however started well, with a very serious victory in the semi once morest Australia. On the other side ? Team USA had gotten rid of China and was waiting for our four sistas. Four girls including Cameron Brink, neither more nor less than Stephen Curry’s goddaughter and incidentally projected top 3 of the next WNBA draft, just that. The game ? Complicated for the French. Lots of fouls, lots of throws and overall a notch below. But clearly Laetitia Guapo (elected in the standard team of the competition), Marie-Eve Paget, Myriam Djekoundade and Hortense Limouzin have not much to blame themselves for this final and for the competition as a whole. The Americans won their first title since 2014 and gave an appointment to those who will play at home in a little over a year for the Olympic Games, place de la Concorde in Paris. And you know what ? Something tells us that we won’t be far to make you live the event.
Well done ladies, huge well done. No gold this time but our 3×3 girls are still at the top or close to it, and the consistency at this level is incredible. Quick, the Games.
