Freesia (Jia Song), this time China controversy? Kimchi stew pointed out
Song Jia, who runs the beauty YouTube channel Free Interest, is once once more being controversial.
Recently, on an online community, an article was posted saying that Song Jia wrote the subtitle ‘Pao Chai’ in an introduction video for Kimchi steamed on the Chinese version of YouTube, Billy Billy.
Pao chai is a Chinese pickled vegetable dish. It is a word that has become a hot topic in Korea as some netizens in China claim that “kimchi is only a name change following Korea stole Chinese pao chai.”
In response, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs stated that kimchi was not related to pao chai, and last year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also specified the Chinese translation and notation of kimchi as ‘Shinchi’ (辛奇).
In addition, it is known that Song Jia posted a video commemorating the Chinese holiday ‘Star Festival’ in Bilibili in the past and said, “I like China”, and some netizens are outraged.
Meanwhile, Song Ji-ah enjoyed explosive popularity by appearing on Netflix’s ‘Solo Hell’. However, the so-called ‘fake’ controversy broke out and the image was damaged. Amid the controversy, the production team of MBC’s ‘Point of Omniscient Interfere’ also announced that they decided to edit Song Ji-ah’s broadcast.
On the 20th, the production team of ‘Cheer Up’ posted on their website, “We decided not to broadcast the filming of Song Ji-ah following mutual consultation with the cast. The broadcast on the 29th will proceed normally with other performers,” he said.
