In particular, lawyers, brokers, hairdressers, taxi operators and architects declared an annual gross income of up to 25,000 euros on average, while plumbers, electricians and carpenters showed higher turnovers by 20%-30%.
At the top of the “pyramid” of receipts are pharmacists, tobacconists and fuel station owners, and in the last positions are watchmakers and jewelers with an average annual turnover of 5,050 euros.
Despite the presumptions, half of the freelancers and self-employed persons showed this year taxable incomes of “poverty” and in several cases losses, and given that net profits do not exceed 1/3 of the turnover, they were caught in the trap of presumptions.
It is noted that the average turnover is one of three criteria for determining the minimum presumptive income. The other two are years of professional activity and total payroll.
From the list of AADE with the average turnover of 2023 declared in this year’s tax returns by 383 professional branches, the following emerges:
- Taxi operators: The 29,206 taxpayers who operate taxis declared a gross income for 2023 of €18,595 on average, up from €16,281 in 2022.
- Bar owners: The 28,751 bar owners reported a gross revenue of €43,524 for 2023, significantly up on the average turnover of €37,777 they had shown for 2022.
- Plumbers: 8,977 natural persons are employed in the sector. The average gross income in 2023 rose to €32,354 from €29,463 in 2022.
- Carpenters: The 5,394 carpenters report a gross income of 35,593 euros on average from 32,913 euros they had declared for 2022.
- Electricians: 8,864 natural persons are active in the sector. The average gross income they declared for 2023 rose to €36,300 from €32,635 in 2022.
- Lawyers: The average gross income declared by the 35,326 lawyers amounted for 2023 to 23,720 euros against 22,890 euros in 2022.
- Doctors (special medical professions activities): The 23,283 doctors declared an average turnover of 44,337 euros for 2023 when for 2022 the average gross income had risen to 46,640 euros.
Real estate brokers: The 3,723 brokers appear with an average turnover of 15,123 euros in 2023 from 15,733 euros for 2022. - Architects: The 10,643 architects reported an average gross income of €20,573 out of the €18,765.91 they had shown for 2022.
In comparison, the biggest receipts were shown by:
- 203 taxpayers active in the wholesale trade of tobacco products with an average annual turnover of 1,202,704 euros from 1,295,860 euros for 2022
- 3,304 professionals from the retail trade of motor fuels with an average annual turnover of 669,782 from 772,275 euros in 2022.
- 67 self-employed from the production of animal feed preparations with an average income of 476,685 euros from 484,631 euros in 2022.
- 75 professionals from the manufacture of plastic packaging items with an average gross income of 341,554 euros from 377,210 euros for 2022.
- 7,518 pharmacists with an average turnover of 292,571 euros
On the contrary, the lowest turnover was reported by 516 taxpayers who are active in the repair and mending of watches and jewelry with an average annual gross income of 5,050 euros and 1,549 in financial mediation organizations with 7,700 euros.
