The 18th is Respect for the Aged Day. A photo studio in Kagoshima City held a free photo session for senior citizens.
Studio Media, a photo studio in Kagoshima City, continues to hold free photo sessions for people over 70 on Respect for the Aged Day. It was held for the first time in three years due to the influence of the new coronavirus.
Fumiko Hiramine, 89 years old, from Eicho, Minamikyushu City. I attended with her eldest daughter Chiemi. She carries a handmade handbag.
She married her husband, Yukio, at the age of 19. She was not blessed with a child, and Chiemi was born when she was 35 years old.
(Fumiko) “(My husband) said he would never marry this girl because she was cute.”
After that, their eldest son, Kotaro, was born, and the four of them started living together, but Yukio passed away from leukemia when Chiemi was 15 years old. Fumiko worked at a poultry farm and a facility’s kitchen, and she raised her two children.
(Fumiko) “I’m really grateful that I have this child and she does a lot of things for me. Thank you.”
Recently, Chiemi has been feeling unwell a lot, so she applied for the photo session on the 18th because she wanted to capture her mother in good health.
(Chiemi) “I want you to live a long and healthy life.”
On the 18th, 30 people selected by lottery took photos full of their individuality wearing their favorite costumes and props.
