Free has allowed the French to make big savings, and he makes it known

Since the launch of Free Mobile in 2012, the average mobile bill has been half as high.

On the occasion of launch of Free Mobile offers in the Caribbean, the operator announces “soon a gain in purchasing power for all” the inhabitants of Guyana, Martinique and Reunion. The main package launched by Free indeed offers 210GB for €9.99/month, which is much cheaper than equivalent offers in these departments.

And if Free is so sure of itself by announcing an upcoming gain in purchasing power, it takes France as an example. The operator indicates that in ” metropolis, the Free mobile revolution immediately resulted in a gain in purchasing power for the French. INSEE estimates the fall in mobile prices in mainland France at 9.5% over the first 9 months of 2012 (source Insee). The average monthly bill for French people has thus fallen from €27.3 in 2012 to €14.30 in 2022.” For this last data, Free relies on the ARCEP Electronic Telecommunications Markets Observatory.

Thus since the arrival of Free Mobile, the average bill of the inhabitants of the metropolis has been halved. This of course takes into account the low-cost packages launched by Free, but also the fact that competitors also had to lower their prices to remain competitive with Xavier Niel’s operator.
