Through the program, known as OPEN, the American English for Educators organization offers massive open online courses (MOOCs), which, in addition to having no cost and having unlimited places available, will allow you learn them at your own pace.
The English courses at the United States Embassy are aimed at educators, journalists, entrepreneurs and specialists in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), among other professionals.
It is worth mentioning that the classes taught by professionals in the field cover a wide range of specific topics, such as English for professional development, STEM sciences, journalism, business and entrepreneurship, as well as media literacy.
It is estimated that between December (2021) and February 476,600 people actively searched for work and currently many young people choose to seek employment abroad.
The English course focused on professional development consists of a self-study program of five online modules.
Designed specifically for people who do not have English as their native language and who seek to grow professionally internationally, the program covers fundamental topics such as the methodology for searching and applying for job offers in the United States, additionally allows for a comparative analysis of these. processes in the student’s native country.
Throughout the MOOC, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their global career development, enriching their English vocabulary and perfecting essential communication skills for the professional field.
Techniques will be addressed for identifying job opportunities tailored to your profile, creating application documents such as resumes and cover letters, as well as strategies to improve networking and interview techniques.
