During the year-end and New Year holidays, 13 municipalities in the prefecture will distribute antigen test kits free of charge to check for infection with the new coronavirus. The aim is to prevent a rush of patients to doctors on duty and emergency services as many medical institutions go on holiday. The distribution will be targeted at people with symptoms, and those who are suspected of being infected will be encouraged to recuperate at home to prevent the spread of infection.
Hanamaki, Kitakami, Oshu, Ichinoseki, etc. The prefecture sent a total of 14,500 test kits to municipalities that requested them. The distribution targets are basically those under the age of 65 who are symptomatic and have a low risk of aggravation.
It is not limited to 13 municipalities, but it is possible to receive the kit by applying to the prefecture’s Iwate test kit delivery center. Apply using the dedicated form on the prefecture’s website.
