This November 14 is World Diabetes Day and, like every year, the Synlab-Oxabio laboratories are mobilizing. From November 13 to 18, free screenings are organized in the various establishments (Cambrai, Caudry, Solesmes, Douai, Douchy-les-Mines, Hénin-Beaumont, Leforest, Béthune). Screenings are open to everyone — except pregnant women and minors — and without an appointment.

“Diabetes is still a major public health issue in Hauts de France, which is why we act as a prevention player.“, indicate the Synlab-Oxabio laboratories in a press release. The aim is also to raise awareness among visitors regarding this disease.
“With a rate of 6.2%, the Hauts-de-France region has the highest prevalence in mainland France. Risk factors for diabetes: sedentary lifestyle, smoking, high blood pressure, obesity and overweight, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol and/or triglycerides). Diabetes therefore constitutes a major public health issue and a priority area of research for the entire national territory and particularly in Hauts-de-France.”Last year, 240 people took part in this screening.
Practical: The Oxabio laboratories, in Cambrésis, are located in Cambrai (Porte Notre-Dame on 11/13 in the morning and Martin-Martine on 11/14 in the morning), in Caudry (on November 18 in the morning) and Solesmes (Thursday, November 16).
