From Monday, June 5, 2023, people who show symptoms related to dengue fever, and those who have confirmed cases in their entourage, will be able to benefit from the Labo sans ordo device. Launched by ARS Guyana, it allows potential patients to be tested free of charge and without a prescription in the Eurofins and Biosoleil laboratories in the space city.
It is a response to the return of dengue on our territory. The Regional Health Agency announces the launch of the Lab device without ordo from Monday, June 5, 10:00 a.m., in Kourou. The space city has, since April at least, been identified as an epidemic center for the dengue virus.
Indeed, since the beginning of 2023, 31 cases have been confirmed in Guyana. The patients live on the Littoral and on the Maroni, but especially in Kourou. Since the end of May, the virus has been spreading in the eastern part of Kourou. The ARS has set up a screening system to curb the spread.
Thus, “Lab without ordo” allows people with symptoms suggestive of dengue fever (such as fever), or with confirmed cases in their entourage, to get tested free of charge and without a prescription in the Eurofins and Biosoleil laboratories from the town of Kourou.
