free agent after being fired by Detroit

The chronicle of an announced dismissal comes to an end. Since Kemba Walker landed in Detroit it was clear that there were only two ways out: transfer or buyout. With that premise, the Pistons have rushed to the limit to find a trade that has not occurred and that has led them to finally cut the veteran point guard, who now becomes a free agent; reports journalist Marc Stein.

With this move already confirmed, a new path now opens up for Kemba. To date he had always been on the radar of many teams as a possible reinforcement. Boston signed him as a replacement for Kyrie Irving and the Knicks wanted him to prop up a growing project. The context has changed. If the Michigan organization has fired you, it is because the market for point guard it is practically non-existent; so much so that there has only been talk of his possible return to the Charlotte Hornets – there is no more.

At 32 years old, Kemba faces the most difficult moment of his career. The physical problems suffered in recent campaigns have significantly diminished him to the point of experiencing a disastrous 2021-22 season to play only 37 games. But we are no longer talking regarding playing little, but regarding doing it far from his usual level and concluding with an average of 11.6 points, 3.5 assists in 25.6 minutes per night. Perhaps his presence in the NBA is due to waiting for the season to pass. regular season and some team needs to take over their services. This is just the thing to get him back to North Carolina, as LaMelo Ball enters the season injured.
