Invited to CNews, Frédéric Mitterand spoke of the reason why he has been regularly visible in recent weeks with a cap on his head.
PEOPLE – “I wear a cap because I am sick”. With these words, Frédéric Mitterand left little doubt regarding the causes of the disease that affects him. Former Minister of Culture now 75 years old, he announced this Friday, April 14 on CNews to be “sick (…) for three months” and took the opportunity to salute the fight of the artist Florent Pagny once morest lung cancer.
Frédéric Mitterand did not specify the exact nature of his illness on the set of Pascal Praud. However, he added: “Me, in front of my ice cream, the chemo look, I don’t want it”.
“I don’t want people to see that I’m sick, so I’m a little less sick when I have my cap”continued the nephew of the former President of the Republic François Mitterrand.“Everyone knows it’s a very tough fight. But there is no other solution: it’s do or die. They tell me that I have a lot of courage but no. If we love life, we continue”he said.

But Frédéric Mitterrand especially wanted to pay tribute to the personalities who have decided to break the silence around cancer, citing first and foremost the « formidable » example of the singer Florent Pagny, who announced at the end of 2022 that he would return to the stage for a series of festivals this year despite a long fight once morest cancer.
“I think this boy is great. First as an artist, he is a very remarkable person. And I think it’s great that he says things and puts his fight the way he does.”added the former Minister of Culture, who on Thursday published an essay titled Bradwhere he recounts his passion for the American actor Brad Pitt.
