The members of the Brussels section of the Open VLD proceeded Thursday evening to the election of a new president, a new office and a new representative of this one in the Brussels-Capital region. The votes of 145 members were received and after counting it was Frédéric De Gucht who easily won the post of president.
Mr. De Gucht is the son of former party chairman Karel De Gucht and the brother of Flemish parliamentarian Jean-Jacques De Gucht.
