With respect and responsibility, this is how the Argentine group Dios salve a la Reina takes on the challenge of representing the memorable band Queen. These are four passionate artists, a British group, who 25 years ago immersed themselves in the arduous and complicated task of emulating Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Rober Taylor and John Deacon and their music.
With this proposal, converted into a heartfelt tribute, the quartet returns to Costa Rica with a concert full of energy, memories and a lot of talent.
The event is this Thursday, March 21 at the Palacio de los Deportes, in Heredia, a venue that will resonate with hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, We Will Rock You or Love of My Life. According to Matías Albornoz, drummer of Dios salve a la Reina, the show will awaken the emotions of Queen fans thanks to a musical number that they have prepared with great dedication and detail.
In an interview with La Nación, the drummer recognized the demands of the Queen fan and the great responsibility they have to offer a top-level show. “After so many years in this, we incorporate their movements and their interpretation into our lives. In some ways it comes very natural to us, it is already something acquired,” said Albornoz.
Regarding the preparation they have to pay tribute to Queen, the musician revealed that they have always been very meticulous. They have always put a dose of excellence in the interpretation of the songs, but also in the costumes and characterization of each of them. However, every time they prepare a concert, they find new details that they incorporate into their presentations.

“It is something inexplicable that following 25 years we do not get tired. We always find something different and the public always gives us something new. We experience each show differently, so we don’t get bored and we continue to grow,” said Albornoz.
Throughout their career, the award that the public gives them with their approval is a recognition of the effort they have put into representing one of the most important musical groups in history. “People, without a doubt, perceive the respect that we have for the legend that is Queen,” said the artist.
Queen, a huge band that always gives more
One of the advantages of doing a tribute to a group like Queen is that their repertoire is so broad that each show has new features. Thanks to that, God Save the Queen will not repeat any of the other recitals that he has given in Costa Rica; This time they promise to surprise fans.

Although there are many songs that are a must at a Queen concert, the audience also wants to hear songs that are not always performed live, so God Save the Queen will bring surprises for her reunion with the Ticos.
The drummer announced that the show will last regarding two hours and that they will present a differentiated staging with special costumes. “We say that it is a magical show because we intend to generate in the public the illusion of seeing the original Queen. For those who lived through that era it is like a trip back in time and for the new ones we show them what a show was like in the eighties, where Freddie ran around the stage and all the weight of the sound that a live band generates,” explained the Argentine.
It should be noted that God Save the Queen covers Queen’s catalog from its beginnings in 1973 to Made in Heaven, its last album.

Tickets are available at site www.eticket.cr. The prices and seats are: ¢27,000 (general east and west side), ¢31,000 (preferential second floor), ¢36,000 (VIP seating) and ¢46,000 (Save the Queen area).
