After eight years of living together, François Hollande and Julie Gayet said “yes” to each other last weekend at the town hall of Tulle, which the former president knows well.
Sure, Francois Hollande et Julie Pretty have chosen to unite in their city of hearts: Tulle, a city in Corrèze in which the former president held the office of mayor, between 2001 and 2008. It was therefore François Hollande’s successor, Bernard Combes, who officiated his surprise marriage to Julie Gayet, celebrated on June 4 in the greatest discretion. Despite everything, Bernard Combes shared a photo of the event on his Instagram account.
On the photo unveiled this Wednesday, François Hollande and Julie Gayet appear seated from behind, facing the mayor officiating the civil ceremony. “Celebrating a wedding is always a unique moment for me. I like to unite those who love each other, commented Bernard Combes. Saturday June 4, it was François and Julie who got married in Tulle, in their city of hearts. It is with infinite happiness and emotion that I proceeded to their union. Since they bought a house on the heights of Tulle, four years ago, Julie Gayet and François Hollande spend part of the year in Corrèze.
The wedding was announced by the newspaper “The mountain ” tuesday. Little information was given, except that the singer Benjamin Biolay, friend of the bride, was there.

This is a first marriage for François Hollande, who was not married to Ségolène Royal, the mother of his four children (Thomas, Clémence, Julien and Flora). The former head of state was also not married to Valérie Trierweiler, who shared his life between 2010 and 2014. For her part, Julie Gayet donned a white dress for the second time since she had already been married to the filmmaker Santiago Amigorena, the father of her sons Tadeo and Ezéchiel, between 2000 and 2006.
