Kyo, Louane, Roméo Elvis and even Møme were on the bill for the fifth edition of Francofolies Nouvelle-Calédonie, which was to take place on September 15, 16 and 17, at the Tjibaou cultural center. “After considering all possible scenarios, we are forced to cancel the festival“, announce the organizers of the Francofolies Nouvelle-Caéldonie, this Thursday evening, on their Facebook page. The forecast weather conditions make the technical assembly of the highly anticipated fifth edition of a festival impossible.
Thousands of spectators had their tickets to see Kyo, Louane, Roméo Elvis, the reggae duo Jahneration, the pianist Sofiane Pamart or even Møme on the lawns of the Tjibaou cultural center. But heaven decided otherwise. A large part of the territory is placed in vigilance heavy rain and thunderstorms by Météo-France NC, at least until this Friday evening.
“It is with heavy hearts that we have had to make this decision“, comment the organizers, who explain that they have put the safety of artists and spectators above all else.”We are thinking of the entire festival team, the artists who came, the artists who worked hard to offer a quality show, the partners who trust us, the service providers and all the festival-goers who were happy to experience a great musical event.“
Places will be refunded but be patient, they warn.
