Franck Passi, OL assistant coach, after the defeat against Auxerre: “Three minutes of air pocket…”

“How do you explain this air pocket following the recent good results?
We had three minutes of air pocket which put in the air a work of several weeks. We had managed to remain undefeated for six matches and we came out of two good performances last week. But three minutes of lack of concentration…

Did you also lack reaction?
It was very complicated because Auxerre were playing in their camp but we had managed to score. Somewhere, then, they stayed at home, we tried to go through the sides but we mightn’t touch our players because there was not enough rhythm in the passes. We lacked mobility, and it’s obvious that staying close to their goal, with ten players, it was hard to move. In the first half, we tried too hard to go behind their backs instead of going through the sides as well.

You concede a goal from a set piece. It was a problem that you had solved recently…
At the start, we conceded goals from set pieces, but it was above all a lack of concentration here. Because it was one of the days when we had the most size players, and we thought it was going to be fine. But you have to be present at the individual marking. »
