Franck García was born in 2013 and has been playing football for several years in his native Cumaná, capital of the state of Sucre.

He became interested in the sport after watching several Real Madrid CF matches on television, Spain’s most famous team, and appreciating the style of play of Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese star who led the white team to four UEFA Champions Leagues in five seasons.

Ronaldo’s goal-scoring ability, the only one to have scored in five different World Cups, as well as his work ethic inspired him to join Atlético Cumaná, with whom he plays the Sucre State Championship on weekends.

An achievement for the young man

This 11-year-old boy was close to glory in 2024 as he recently reached the final of the 2013 version of the 2024 Apertura Tournament, but he was unable to win the title because Atlético Cumaná lost 1-0 to San Lázaro.

That summit match was played at the Félix “Lalito” Velásquez sports center in Cumaná, where he started and played throughout the match.

Even though the result was not what he and his teammates wanted, García promised to train hard to try to lead his team to obtain a long-awaited title at the end of the 2024 campaign, when the Clausura Tournament will begin.

Full support

To achieve this, he has the support of representatives of the Sucre State Football Association (Afes), chaired by John Márquez, whose work is supported by vice president José Cova. Both will carry out competitions to keep the boy active, as well as the rest of the young athletes from Sucre.

It has been revealed that Afes will not only collaborate with the development of the exponents born in 2013, but also with those from the class of 2010, in which 11 teams are involved.

Jesús Hernández, Carlos Brito and Humberto Jerez are part of the Afes coaching staff that carries out matches that are refereed by Henry García and Adelkys Márquez, who teach García, as well as other beardless players who aspire to become professionals in the future, to respect the rules of the game, as well as to be exemplary citizens.
