The vice president of Colombia, Francia Márquez, made a public complaint through her social networks regarding clashes recorded in Suárez, Cauca, while participating in an event in the municipality.
Although the official did not report any major personal injuries, she expressed her concern regarding the situation in the area.

“I was in Suárez at a meeting with women’s organizations when clashes occurred in the upper part of the municipality,” said Márquez in X.
In addition, he reported that he had already communicated the incident to President Gustavo Petro and the Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, urging the Public Force to intervene to guarantee the tranquility and security of civil society.
In the same message, the vice president called for an end to violence in the region.
Highlighting the need for the people to live in peace, stating:
“It is time for the violence to stop, it is time for our people to live in peace.”

“El Cauca, Suárez, all of Colombia has already suffered too much from the armed conflict, it is enough,” Márquez emphasized.
The area has experienced an upsurge in violence since the ceasefire with the central general staff in that department was lifted.
Since last Wednesday, various military actions have been reported in the region.
Which has generated concern in the community and calls for calm from the authorities.
