Ducati Lenovo RACER Francesco Bagnaia won the opening series of the 2024 MotoGP, the Qatar GP, which was held at the Lusail International Circuit, Monday (11/3) early morning WIB.
Bagnaia finished fastest with a lead of 1.329 seconds over Red Bull KTM racer Brad Binder and 1.933 seconds over Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac).
“We know today is different from yesterday during free practice and Sprint. Today, we can control the motorbike better,” said Bagnaia following the race.
The racer who is familiarly called Pecco started the Qatar GP from fifth position. He immediately took pole position from Martin, who held pole position and was his main competitor last season.
The defending MotoGP champion then maintained his position as the leader from the first lap.
Bagnaia then drove to ensure there was a 1 second margin from the other racers.

There was more exciting competition for second place between Martin and Binder.
Binder, who was riding a new motorbike, the KTM RC16, continued to aggressively pressure Martin from the start of the race, just as he did in the Sprint session the day before.
“I am very happy. This race was predicted to be difficult but I am happy because I was able to control all aspects well,” said Binder.
“I thank the team for giving me this good motorbike. Hopefully we can continue to provide performance like this in the next races,” he continued.
Apart from Binder, the Gresini Racing driver duo, Marc and Alex Marquez, also performed well, finishing in fourth and sixth place. (Ant/Z-1)
