Ducati Lenovo rider Francesco Bagnaia took back-to-back sprint wins at the Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Saturday (17/8).
The sprint victory with a total time of 20 minutes 59.768 seconds perfected his achievement last year when he was fastest in the short race in Austria.
Second place was taken by polesitter Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) who was only 4.673 seconds behind the defending champion.
Eight-time world champion Marc Marquez of Gresini Racing, crashed out of the race after falling in the final five laps, as he challenged Bagnaia and Martin.
Aprilia Racing rider Aleix Espargaro completed the Austrian GP sprint podium with a time margin of 7.584 seconds from the race leader.
This was Espargaro’s second consecutive sprint podium after an impressive performance in the same session at the British GP.

Having been involved in contact with Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing), Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo) was able to maintain his position in fourth position.
Bastianini was just ahead of Red Bull KTM’s Jack Miller and Morbidelli who finished in fifth and sixth respectively.
Completing the top 10 list of this year’s Austrian Sprint GP were Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM), Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46), Red Bull KTM wildcard Pol Espargaro, and young rider Pedro Acosta (GASGAS Tech3).
The 2024 Austrian GP series continues with the main race today, Sunday (18/8) at 19.00 WIB. (Ant/Z-1)
