Ducati Lenovo RACER Francesco Bagnaia was disappointed with the results at the Australian GP.

In the race at the Phillip Island Circuit, Sunday (20/10), Bagnaia finished third after being unable to catch Gresini Racing racer Marc Marquez, who secured the championship title, followed by Prima Pramac Racing racer Jorge Martin, who was in second place.

“Obviously I’m not happy with the result, but we could hardly have done anything better today. We managed to improve
a little bit compared to yesterday and I did everything I could to stay competitive with Jorge (Martin) and Marc (Marquez) but ended up struggling coming in on the last lap. “They were better than us today,” said Bagnaia, quoted from the Ducati website, Sunday (20/10).

Previously, in the qualifying and sprint race rounds, the Italian racer complained that his motorbike’s performance had not improved even though there had been a number of changes to adapt to the character of the Phillip Island Circuit.

Apart from that, Bagnaia also complained about the strong wind conditions at the Phillip Island Circuit during the qualifying round and sprint race, which disturbed his balance during the race.

The results from the Australian GP were not very satisfactory for Bagnaia, meaning he failed to close the distance from Jorge Martin, who is now comfortable at the top of the standings.

With three races remaining, the 27 year old racer hopes to be able to improve his performance and sweep the remaining three races.

“The next two circuits on the calendar are usually better for me in terms of feeling, and we will make sure to be ready,” said Bagnaia.

The results of the race at the Australian GP mean that Bagnaia is now in second place with 404 points or 20 points adrift of Martin, who is still leading the race for the 2024 MotoGP title. (Ant/Z-1)
