Ducati Lenovo rider Francesco Bagnaia is determined to repeat his dominance of last season at the Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Spielberg, this weekend.

Bagnaia’s dominance at the circuit last season was unstoppable. He took pole position, set a new lap record, won the Sprint race, and the main Austrian GP race.

“The Spielberg circuit is one of the tracks I like the most, and in the past, we have always been competitive. In general, this is a track where the Ducati riders have always been very fast, therefore, I expect many riders to be able to compete for the top positions,” said Bagnaia, quoted from the official Ducati website, Wednesday (14/8).

Furthermore, the two-time world champion said that the approach he and his team will take this weekend will not be much different from previous races.

“Now, the goal is to get back to the top of the overall standings and then try to widen the gap in the championship standings.
in the next race,” he said.

His teammate, Enea Bastianini, also arrived in Austria to be one of the protagonists this weekend.

After taking his first Sprint win and first race win of the season in Britain two weeks ago, Bastianini is determined to remain competitive at the track where he took his first MotoGP pole position in 2022.

“I think I can start like this again in Austria and rediscover the same sensations that allowed me to be so competitive in England,” said Bastianini.

“The feeling with the bike is there and we are working well, so I am confident that I can do well in
Spielberg too,” he added.
