Paris – The French Constitutional Council has scrapped large parts of the controversial immigration law. The waiting period for non-EU foreigners for social benefits and the higher hurdles for family reunification are among the rejected regulations, as the highest constitutional court decided on Thursday in Paris. Some of the articles are not constitutional, other articles have nothing to do with the original aim of the text, the institution emphasized. (APA, January 25, 2024)
