Four people were injured in a knife attack on the Lyon metro, according to French authorities.
The incident happened early Sunday followingnoon, according to BFMTV. Two victims are in serious condition, while the other two suffered minor injuries.
The man attacked three people with a knife at the Jean-Jaurès metro station in Lyon early this followingnoon, Sunday, BFMLyon was informed by the prefecture.
The man was quickly arrested by police at the scene, the city’s deputy security officer, Mohamed Chihi, told X.

French authorities cordoned off the area
According to iefimerida, in a statement the prefect of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Rhône regions asked passers-by to respect the security perimeter and avoid the area. The case has not yet been referred to the national anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office.
A deputy mayor and the local prefecture announced that a suspect had been arrested.
There is no information yet on the identity of the assailant or his possible motive.
