– Suspect indicted following two rapes at Nanterre hospital
Suspected of three rapes at the end of July, including two at the Nanterre hospital, near Paris, a man was indicted and imprisoned on Saturday.
A man suspected of having raped two patients at the Nanterre hospital at the end of July, then a girl two days later in another district of the city, was indicted and imprisoned on Saturday, according to the Nanterre prosecutor’s office requested by the AFP.
The suspect, arrested on Friday, then placed in police custody in the premises of the Nanterre judicial police, was indicted on Saturday by an investigating judge, for rape of a vulnerable person and for rape of a 15-year-old minor. He was then remanded in custody late that evening.
Thirty minute intervals
According to the newspaper “Le Parisien”, which revealed his arrest, the 27-year-old man is of Congolese nationality and has no fixed address. He is suspected of having raped two patients, aged 78 and 70, at the Max-Fourestier hospital on the morning of July 27, thirty minutes apart. Then two days later, a 12-year-old girl in the Zilina-Chemin district.
Following the rapes, the Nanterre hospital had assured AFP that it had taken “additional security measures”, in particular “strengthened controls at the entrance to the hospital” and “more frequent rounds by agents of security”.
