Focus on France Identity: a dematerialized version of the national identity card
On November 29, 2023, a new application was born: France Identity. This is one of the Government’s latest innovations. In this case it is regardingan application dedicated to Smartphones with a number of downloads of 5,289. Especially since it is a free license.
Running on Android and iOS devices, the France Identity application has already obtained First Level Security Certification (CSPN), also called ANSSI Security Visa (National Agency for Information Systems Security). This means that a large number of Android Smartphones have been added to the list. It is similar to a new dematerialized identity service. This is one more step towards digital security.
Using the France Identity application, you can prove your identity more quickly without disclosing confidential data.
Initiated by the French government, the experimental phase of the France Identity application is coming to an end. It was tested on several Android and iOS Smartphones for several months (more than a year). Nowadays, the service is already operational. It allows to digitize the national identity card first. And, if things progress well, it will be the turn of the driving license to be digitized.
France Identity, expected at the start of 2024, continues its development. Of course, this government service will still have to go through other stages to reach its peak. In particular, there is the need to obtain security certification in order to further expand the list of compatible devices.

Can seniors use this application without worries?
Seniors should not encounter any major difficulties using France Identity. It is an easy-to-learn application. No need to read an exhaustive manual to use it on a daily basis. Android and iOS users already have the beta version of this application, and this since September 2023.
France Idité will probably become an essential identification service in the coming years. It will allow greatly facilitate certain administrative procedures. For the moment, this service gives the possibility of storing the new identity card on a Smartphone. The application thus provides a single-use proof of identity. The user can also identify themselves quickly with FranceConnect.
Especially since France Identity already works on several types of devices:
Versions 1, 2, 4 on Android Versions 1, 2, 3 on iOS
To access France Identity, you need the new national identity card. This means that this application is reserved for adults residing on French territory. Seniors are therefore included in the list of potential users.
