France has ordered 1.5 million additional vaccine doses

France has just ordered 1.5 million doses of monkeypox vaccine from the Danish laboratory Bavarian Nordic, according to information from the JDD.

According to the Journal du Dimanche, the laboratory which manufactures this vaccine announced on July 19 that a large order had been made by a European country without specifying the name. “It is therefore France”, confirms the same source which also specifies that “the Ministry of Health intends to vaccinate 10,000 to 15,000 people per week”.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, just over 56,000 doses of vaccine have already been administered, but the government is criticized for the slowness of the vaccination campaign.

However, some vaccinated people have posted photos of vaccine boxes with an expiry date that has passed by at least two years.

But the “Alert and Crisis” unit of Public Health France had indicated that “these vaccines might be used beyond their initial expiry date”.
