The dismembered body of a young woman was discovered Monday in the middle of the day in Mont-Saint-Martin (Meurthe-et-Moselle), we learned from the Nancy prosecutor’s office.
“A dismembered body, headless and naked, was found at the beginning of the followingnoon by a passer-by near a disused building, in ZUP (zone to be urbanized as a priority, editor’s note) of Mont-Saint-Martin”, detailed the deputy public prosecutor, Stéphane Javet. The trunk of the victim, “a relatively young woman” according to the prosecution, will soon be autopsied at the forensic institute of Nancy. “It’s a clearly criminal case,” had specified earlier in the followingnoon to AFP Catherine Galen, public prosecutor of Val-de-Briey, whose prosecution has relinquished in favor of that of Nancy. The judicial police are carrying out the investigations following the discovery of the body in this town located on the border with Belgium and Luxembourg.
Last Thursday, regarding fifty kilometers further south, another headless body was discovered by walkers in the national forest of Moyeuvre-Grande, not far from Val-de-Briey. The death of this man might go back several months according to Ms. Galen whose prosecution is seized of the case. “No link as it stands” exists between the two cases, said Mr. Javet.
