On Saturday September 23, 2023, Lina mysteriously disappeared on the three-kilometer route between her home in Plaine and the Sainte-Blaise-la-Roche train station in the Bas-Rhin department. The teenager has not been found since.
The 15-year-old wanted to go to Strasbourg to see her boyfriend; two witnesses saw Lina on the way to the train station. But she didn’t arrive in Strasbourg; investigators know that she never got on the train.
Lina’s cell phone was switched off at 11:22 a.m. and investigators located the last signal about a kilometer from her mother’s house. Shortly before, she had sent a picture to her boyfriend who was waiting for her in Strasbourg. The girl’s trail is then lost in a forest near Saint-Blaise-la-Roche.
A witness claimed to have seen the young person as a passenger in a blue small car. Investigators evaluated recordings from surveillance cameras, which is why the owners of such cars in the region were targeted by investigators. But the gendarmerie has so far found no further information.

The friend also found himself among the suspects
The investigation also focused on Lina’s boyfriend. What was suspicious about him was that, according to friends, the 19-year-old had asked for a shovel and a tarpaulin shortly before Lina’s disappearance. He also lied about the whereabouts of his cell phone. He said he lost it in a manhole cover on the day he disappeared. However, investigators found it in a relative’s garage. The 19-year-old denied any involvement and explained: “She wanted to come to me, why should I have kidnapped her?”

In fact, investigators determined that Lina’s boyfriend was undoubtedly in Strasbourg on the morning of the disappearance. They also proved that it was impossible for him to travel back and forth, make the teenager disappear and return. In addition, his cell phone was never near Lina on the day of the disappearance, reports “Le Parisien”. He is therefore no longer on the suspect list today.
No scenario is ruled out
Two months after the disappearance, investigators searched a man’s home in the area. According to investigators, this does not mean that there is a specific suspect, the French media reported in November. The reports go on to say that it was an “operation to clarify doubts”. The public prosecutor in Strasbourg ordered the search. But the missing person case is still not resolved.
The investigation continues. The public prosecutor says they are preparing for “long-term” investigations in which “no path is rejected or favored.”

At the end of November, a YouTuber published a video in which he argued that Lina’s boyfriend and her mother were having an affair. The mother has now filed a complaint for “defamation”. Lina’s disappearance is still a mystery, while the investigation continues with the utmost discretion.
