France among the next NFL destinations – Touchdown Actu

France, Spain, Ireland and Australia targeted by the NFL

Every year, on the occasion of NFL International Games, speculation is rife as to the next destinations of the NFL show. After the first meeting in history played on Brazilian (and even South American) soil, several teams are preparing to play the now traditional matches in London but also in Munich.

And the leaders of the NFL do not intend to stop there. They notably announced last year their desire to double the number of international matches. Questioned this Tuesday by Adam Schefter (on his X account), Peter O’Reilly (one of the vice-presidents of the NFL), announced the main targets of the Grand League. And good news, France is one of them.

“The markets we talked about previously are definitely on our radar. We really want to go to Spain. We are looking very seriously at other markets such as France, Ireland (Dublin) and Australia. We know that the excitement goes well beyond the match itself. »

Flag Football, an extra boost?

The Flag Football will be part of the Olympic sports at the Los Angeles games in 2028. And the NFL intends to contribute to perpetuating its presence for future Olympics.

“We are very committed to ensuring that Flag Football at the Los Angeles Olympics is not just a trial run. The fact that men and women can participate is very important. This is also why Australia with the Brisbane Games in 2032 is very important for us. »

With a growing federation, there is no doubt that France is a prime target in the NFL’s sights. Be careful not to get carried away despite everything. The NFL was already mentioning France as a potential destination in 2022. And when questioned by TDActu last February, Peter O’Reilly politely replied that “we were not there yet”.
