HOUSTON — Framber Valdez threw a four-hit ball to lead the Houston Astros to a 2-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday to complete a three-game series sweep.

Valdez (4-4) struck out seven without issuing a walk, pitching a gem to bounce back after giving up seven hits and four runs in his last outing, pitching just four season-low innings. fifth complete game of his career and first since Sept. 12 against Detroit.
