For India the Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Outreach departs today on a crowded business mission Costas Fragogiannisaccompanied by the general secretary of International Economic Relations and president of Enterprise Greece Myra Myrogianni.

The objective of Economic Diplomacy is to opening of Greek entrepreneurship in a huge and rapidly growing global market as well as the general strengthening of the bilateral economic relations between Greece and India. The visit follows the successful visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Athens, last August, accompanied by powerful Indian businessmen, who had expressed a strong interest in strengthening their business ties with Greece.

The mission in India includes 3 stops, New Delhi (20-21.2), Mumbai (22.2) and Bangalore (23.2), where business forums and B2B meetings are planned between the approximately 70 Greek companies participating in the mission and their Indian counterparts businesses.

Especially in New Delhi, the visit was planned on the occasion of the 2nd India-Europe Business & Sustainability Conclave. The Conclave is an initiative of the Indian government in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries, with the aim of highlighting the need for closer India-Europe economic cooperation to address the challenges facing the global community.

At the Conclave, Mr. Fragogiannis will deliver a keynote speech with an emphasis on shipping and the prospects of a sustainable blue economy, while his work will be jointly welcomed by Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis – who will be in New Delhi accompanying Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis – and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The cutting-edge industries represented in the mission and which will be the subject of discussion at the thematic events are: energy, shipping, pharmaceuticals, technology, industrial equipment, food and beverages, tourism, real estate, construction and audiovisual industry.

It is noted that the business forum in Mumbai will be honored with the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as part of his visit to India.
