Fractured Dreams: Pakistan’s Cricket Resurgence Teeters on the Brink of Collapse

The second Test match of the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is being played in Karachi.

Pakistan team is struggling and so far 7 Pakistani players have returned to the pavilion.

Azhar Ali, the captain of the Pakistani team, won the toss and decided to bat in the Test match played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

With this match, Test cricket returned to Karachi after a long gap of 10 years.

Shaan Masood and Abid Ali started the innings on behalf of the national team, but Shaan Masood scored only 5 runs and was bowled by MVT Fernando.

While captain Azhar Ali’s poor performance continues and he was replaced by Fernando without opening his account.

Opener Abid Ali batted cautiously but could not stay on the wicket for long and was lbw to Lahiru Kumara on an individual score of 38.

After that, the experienced Asad Shafiq came to support Babar Azam and both batted responsibly and added 62 runs, forming a good partnership with Asad Shafiq.

At the total score of 127, Babar Azam tried to play the ball of Amble Denia out of the crease and the batsman who played an innings of 60 runs had to pay for this mistake in the form of a stump.

Harris’s stay at the wicket was also very short and he walked away after scoring only 9 runs.

On the second ball after the tea break, Lahiru dismissed Mohammad Rizwan and then Yasir on two consecutive balls, depriving Pakistan of 7 wickets.

Half-century maker Asad Shafiq is fighting for the survival of the national team from the other end where Pakistan has scored 177 runs for the loss of 7 wickets so far.

Earlier, a change has been made in the national team for the second Test match and fast bowler Usman Shinwari has been replaced by Yasir Shah.

However, despite being a part of the squad, Fawad Alam was not included in the team in the second Test match as well.

It should be noted that when the squad was announced for the 2-Test series against Sri Lanka, Fawad Alam was included in the squad after 10 years, but he was not included in the team even in the first Test match played in Rawalpindi.

Talking about the first test match, that match was drawn due to rain that continued for 3 to 4 days.

However, the national team wants to make the test series in the country memorable after 10 years by winning this test match.
