Eurocrats once once more in the wake of Brussels and the financial industry

Vienna (OTS) “Today’s finance committee is yet another documentary proof that the current black-green ‘anti-cash alliance’ is remote from the public. First, the ÖVP and the Greens resisted an expert hearing on the referendum for unrestricted cash payments for weeks, then they wanted to limit the number of experts. And last but not least, behind the back of the opposition, the two government factions also questioned the public nature of this hearing via live stream on the platform of the parliamentary directorate. So this is what proximity and transparency looks like when the ÖVP and the Greens face a referendum with more than 530,000 signatures,” said FPÖ consumer protection spokesman NAbg today. Peter Worm.

“This anti-democratic and anti-citizen approach fits the picture just as much as the inactivity of the federal government and its parliamentary red-pink accomplices in the two parliamentary clubs on the subject of rising energy and food prices. One is exclusively committed to the Eurocrats and is thus completely in the wake of Brussels and the financial industry. The more than 8.5 percent of those eligible to vote who signed the referendum for unrestricted cash payments will not forget these parties. Because the signatories to this referendum have a reliable partner in the FPÖ, which today will support this initiative for receiving the cash not only in the Finance Committee, but also in the Committee for Consumer Protection. We don’t let the citizens down and feel obliged to them, while this government looks primarily to Brussels and the elites there,” said Wurm.

“Cash is ‘printed freedom’ and that’s obviously why it’s a thorn in the side of the big EU. In contrast to all other parties, we Liberals have been campaigning for the preservation of cash and for the right to cash payments to be anchored in the constitution for years. Who buys what, who spends money on what – if the right to cash payments is further restricted or completely abolished, that doesn’t bode well for the citizens. This is a further step towards transparent citizens and full control,” emphasized the liberal consumer protection spokesman.
