FPÖ wants to preserve old buildings in Linz

The FPÖ complains regarding the increasing disappearance of historical buildings in Linz. In particular, Wilhelminian style houses that are not listed are increasingly falling victim to the wrecking ball. “As a future-oriented but also historically conscious city, we shouldn’t just take note of this,” says a motion for the local council meeting on November 9th.

Rather, the city should do everything possible to ensure that the well-known local color is preserved for future generations. Specifically, the FPÖ is calling on planning officer Dietmar Prammer (SP) to develop an appropriate package of measures. This might include advising owners on preservation options for facades or financial incentives for maintenance and renovation work.
